We are committed to the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and guests as we return to campus. Our re-opening plan for the Spring 2021 Semester implements additional safety processes and protocols that follow federal, state, local, Aramark and Temple University guidelines to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19. The plan will adapt to the guidelines and protocols as they are updated and decisions are made by Temple University.

Maintaining safe environments is critical, so here are some things you will notice when entering a dining facility during the Spring 2021 Semester:

Occupancy and Capacities
The capacity limits of our dining spaces will be maintained based on the current Pennsylvania COVID-19 Phase Guidance for Restaurant and Retail Food Industry.

Facial Coverings
All guests and employees entering dining facilities must wear a facial covering while in the dining location.

Physical Distancing
Temple Culinary Services will implement physical cues for employees and customers to maintain a six-foot distance while in dining locations. All guests are asked to physically-distance whenever possible.

Physical Barriers and Signs
Additional physical barriers will be installed to separate customers from employees in order to reduce transmission risk. Stanchions, in addition to signs, will be used to guide customers through the dining venues and to aid in physical distancing.

Reduced Contact Options and Solutions
Touchless payment solutions will be offered wherever possible in our dining locations. Mobile Ordering will be available through GrubHub at select locations.

Service Style Adjustments
Self-serve food stations will be replaced with fully served stations. All seating in dining areas will be temporarily removed to allow maximum capacity to be used for efficiently serving guests and for maintaining safe environments. All meals will be served in a take-out format. Food court locations will provide traditional take-out offerings. Residential Dining Halls will provide variety with the ability for guests to carry out their food. Closer to opening, menus for Morgan Dining Hall will be available for preview online for ease of ordering.

Sanitation
Temple Culinary Services is enforcing mandatory handwashing every 20 minutes for employees. Additional employees will be staffed to increase the frequency of cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting of dining areas, including frequent touchpoints. Additional chemicals targeted on sanitizing and disinfecting will be stocked to be used by customers and employees.

Ensuring Employee Health and Safety through training and maintaining Safe Environments
All employees will be required to do a health screening prior to the start of each shift, which will include questioning and temperature checks. Per CDC guidelines, employees will not be permitted to work if they have a temperature above 100.4 degrees. All outside vendors will be required to wear facial coverings and may be subject to health screenings. Employees are trained on additional health and safety issues, which will include facial coverings, disposable gloves, sanitizing and disinfecting, and chemical usage. All employees are required to wear the issued facial covering at all times while in the building and working, except while drinking or eating in designated, socially-distanced employee dining areas. In the event of an employee probable or confirmed case of COVID-19, Aramark will follow the state recommendations for a probable or confirmed case and Aramark Health Screening Guidance.

COVID-19 – Customer Policy
In the event of a student or guest with a probable or confirmed case who is in quarantine or isolation, Temple Culinary Services will follow the Meal Delivery for Quarantine Procedure to support the safety and welfare of the campus community.
